Several of us would like to have a Memorial for Berk at the Airport this year.
Anybody interested in stepping up and organizing this?
Lisa?
Rodger??
Hoot???
The outpouring of love, support, and stories on my Blog indicates that he touched a lot of lives...but we already knew that!

One idea proposed for a Berk Memorial is to designate his parking spot 'Berks pad'.
    Keep it open for him.
Mark it with a special tiedown number. Perhaps even a flag.
    Think 'Missing Man' formation.
The hole in the Tiedown area will remind us that he is missed and also that we expect to see him again.

Another suggested meeting Thursday night around the Burn Barrel in or near the Oasis to tell stories of how he touched our lives.

I like the idea of permanently reserving his tiedown spot...
    Anybody else?

Sounds like a great person to have known.

        He was.
        Burningman personified.
        Berk.
        A life worth living.

Was he a burner that got into flying, or was he into flying before being a burner?

This will be my first one, unfortunately I do not have a plane to bring and gift people rides,
but maybe I can find a way to volunteer at the airport.

            Dragonfly:
We will start gathering at the David Best temple at sunset, or thereabouts. We'll be forming a caravan of the people actually camping at the airport about an hour before sunset. when we arrive at the Temple, we will leave the tail-mounted strobe light lit on the airport limo so everyone arriving from elsewhere in the city can locate the group.

I would like to see a portrait of Berk to spruce up the spaceport terminal. It could return each year and be the starter for stories of his presence.

All we need is for the Airport Manager to chime in...
      I've heard some wonderful ideas.
I hear the pain in many posts.
I see the need to acknowledge Berk's life in a substantial way.
The closing off of his parking spot seems, no... feels the right thing to do.
Others, many others not on this Tribe feel the same.
      Why?
Because Berk interacted with them throughout the City.
He touched so many lives. On the ground and in the air.
      He deserves something!
