disclaimer: (one should never use signals to signal a plane unless you really know what you are doing. there's probally liability involved about telling them anything, in case you are wrong.)
but the symbol of the man is doing the 'land here' signal. ;)
and most people that need rescuing are often waving their hands over their head, crossing over the top. which is also the sign for 'don't land here'. the irony.

I have been required to take the Marshaling Exam as an Annual in the Military every year flying.

Bottom line. If you are not qualified...do NOT put others at risk. The liability alone is a killer!!!
