Re: Updated info and UNICOM channel 2007?
Mon, August 13, 2007 - 4:18 PMif your pilot is prepared at all, he already subscribes to the BM aviators mailing list, which is required for all pilots flying to the event.
the exact GPS coordinates were posted there last week.
no official info is ever posted to Tribe. this is where the pilots tell jokes, flame lurkers and chat about stuff that is OT to the mailing list.
again, if you are flying to BM, it is *required* that you subscribe to the aviators list.
if your pilot friend doesn't know that the standard back-country frequency is 122.9 MHz, then you might suggest he take a little mountain-flying training/seminar before taking off with him. -

Mon, August 13, 2007 - 4:51 PMThis might be a good place to post the link.
The wider we disseminate the info, the better IMHO.

Re: Updated info and UNICOM channel 2007?
Mon, August 13, 2007 - 10:25 PMSeems we can alway count on DragonFly to be the "know-it-all" ALL the time.
Sorry to say that, not everyone can be as cool as you.
Wheres the love? Or is that just DragonFly's tough love. hehehe Thanx for the info though. -

Re: Updated info and UNICOM channel 2007?
Tue, August 14, 2007 - 4:13 PMno, not tough. just trying to help you survive.
not cool either, just another plane geek.
also, be wary of "info" posted here, especially by non-pilots who aren't even part of the Airport Village. there are a couple trolls/lurkers on this tribe. Always go to the aviators-list for information. or even better, the aviators-announce list. they are the only sources of official info.
see ya in the dust. -

Re: Updated info and UNICOM channel 2007?
Tue, August 14, 2007 - 6:32 PMWow, DF...
You now have me afraid!
Is there a problem here we are not aware of?
Has there been bad information posted that has endangered lives???
Do we need to contact Tiger Tiger with our concerns?
Burningman Org?
I, as an Aviator, with 3,600 hours in the backseat of Military Airframes as a qualified Loadmaster on C-5 Galaxy's and C-130 Hercules take ANY threat to safety seriously!
I've lost too many friends over the years.
Please clarify your statement
"also, be wary of "info" posted here, especially by non-pilots who aren't even part of the Airport Village. there are a couple trolls/lurkers on this tribe"
for those of us not in 'The Know'.
It's your job as a Manager to keep us safe and disseminate factual information.
